A GREENOCK man is to stand trial after he denied carrying out a campaign of abuse against his former partner over the course of a year and a half.
Stephen Mullen is alleged to targeted the woman at addresses in Greenock and Gourock between December 2022 and May of this year.
The 49-year-old is accused of making violent threats and uttering offensive remarks towards her.
Prosecutors say he also sent abusive messages and voicemails, and that he threatened to share an intimate picture of the woman online.
The charge further alleges that Mullen attended at the complainer’s place of work uninvited to intimidate her and threatened to contact her supervisor 'as a means of controlling her'.
Mullen, of Arden Road, pleaded not guilty through defence solicitor David Tod at Greenock Sheriff Court.
He was granted bail and is due to stand trial on December 18.
