A BUSY church in Port Glasgow has received a welcome cash boost from council bosses.
Port Glasgow New Parish Church is celebrating a £1,500 grant from Inverclyde Council's Community Grants Fund sub-committee.
The September meeting of the sub-committee awarded 100 groups a share of more than £250,000.
Port Glasgow New Parish will use the cash to cover running costs for community groups and holiday club expenses.
The church, which celebrated its 200th anniversary last year, runs a holiday club for primary school aged children in the summer and hosts a playgroup and an after-school club for children with additional support needs.
It also runs the 'Dove Cafe' for people with dementia and their carers.
