Search the Public Notice PortalALDI’S bid to expand their Greenock store has been given the go-ahead by Inverclyde Council planners.
The discount supermarket chain’s plans include alterations to its Patrick Street branch’s car park and an expansion of its sales area from around 1,000 square metres to almost 1,400 square metres.
The proposals will also see new customer toilets added, as well as improved facilities for staff.
Five electric vehicle charging points and seven extra parking spaces will be created by the changes.

Aldi was previously given permission for an extension in January 2022, but decided to submit a new, altered application.
A supporting statement submitted alongside the most recent application stated: “Aldi are pleased to be able to submit this detailed planning application to seek approval for the layout and design of the proposed extension to the rear of their existing store in Greenock.
“These proposals represent a significant investment by Aldi and are a sign of their long-term commitment to the local area and further contribute to improving the quality and experience for shoppers in this part of Inverclyde.
“Aldi have identified a need to extend their Greenock store to enable them to continue to provide their award-winning offer to local residents.”
