A BBC feature-length film shot partly in Inverclyde has scooped a national award.

CBBC’s The Primrose Railway Children won the children’s category at the recent Royal Television Society (RTS) Scotland Awards in Glasgow.

Scenes for the family drama were filmed at Finlaystone Country Park last summer.

The film is based on Dame Jacqueline Wilson’s reimagining of E. Nesbit’s classic, The Railway Children.

Dan Twist, chair of RTS Scotland: "The RTS Scotland Awards stand as a definitive celebration of the finest talent in Scottish television.

“This year’s outstanding nominees and winners reflect the strength and resilience of a thriving Scottish TV industry, even in the face of widespread sector challenges.

“RTS Scotland is proud to continue its unwavering commitment to supporting, educating, and championing talent across all areas of the industry—both on screen and behind the scenes.”

The Primrose Railway Children features Grey’s Anatomy star Kevin McKidd alongside Bodyguard’s Nina Toussaint-White as parents Rob and Sarah.

The story follows Phoebe (Ava McCarthy), her older sister Becks (Isa Brooke) and brother Perry (Tylan Bailey) as they are uprooted from their lives in Glasgow and moved to the Scottish Highlands.

It was first aired on CBBC in November last year, and is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
