Enthusiasts have a good time at Finlaystone Country Park car show

Finlaystone Country Estate hosted its first annual car show, organised by lead park rangers Maurice Adams and Grant Fellows.

More than 400 visitors got the chance to peruse a total of 36 cars of all shapes and sizes in a day full of fun.

Car enthusiasts were able to show off their amazing machines and speak about their hobbies with passion.

Maurice said: “We wanted to run the event to give people a bit of inspiration.

“We know that people are really interested in cars in this area, and an event like this is something that the area really needs.

“It helped us to showcase what the estate does and help to put it on the map.

“It’s really given us a boost and helped us bring more people to the estate.

“It was a great success.”

Little Devils Castles provided a bouncy castle to keep the youngsters entertained, and face painting was offered by Wild Faces.

Stalls included comics and toys, and a lot of tasty fayre was served up on the barbecue.

Some of the businesses and organisations involved included The Ark on the Clyde, Crolla Ice Cream, Scart Farm, The Anchor, and Greenock Classic Cars.

Rangers Maurice and Grant got the chance to speak to people about the estate’s walking trail, the clan room, and Finlaystone’s history.

Maurice added: “We’ve already started planning for next year’s event and it’s going to be even bigger and better.”
