BUSINESSES in Inverclyde are being urged to provide work experience for young local job-seekers.
The plea comes from the local co-ordinators of the Street League initiative, who are currently seeking new applicants for their next programme.
With the aim of bridging the gap between education and employment, the programme offers support to young people in their pursuit into the job market or further education.
A Facebook post by the organisation said: "One of the biggest barriers young people are facing when looking for employment is lack of previous work experience.
"But how do they get this without being given a chance?
"We are looking for businesses that are able to facilitate a work placement, totally free to the employer.
"We are working with young people interested in various sectors and are happy to speak to any employers that would like to hear more about this.
"Help us to reduce youth unemployment in the Inverclyde area."
