GREENOCK pie lovers are being invited to apply for a dream job.
Aldi Scotland has opened applications for its 2026 Pie Tester role, offering one person the chance to sample and review the supermarket’s latest limited-edition pie collection.
Now in its second year, the position was created to celebrate Aldi’s specialbuy pie range, which features a variety of creative fillings, including meatball marinara, Balmoral chicken, and cauliflower, leek and truffle oil.
Stuart McNeill, Aldi Scotland pie tester 2025 and a teacher from Falkirk, said: "It was an absolute joy to be crowned Aldi Scotland’s first ever Pie Tester.
"From the very first bite, it was a truly ful-filling role.
"As an avid pie lover, the chance to try and test a full range of delightful pies was a true slice of heaven.
"The range completely blew me away, with my top picks being the Salt & Chili Chicken Curry and Chicken Chasni pies.
"If you’re ready to step up to the plate, just do it.
"It’s a cracking experience and one you’ll never forget."
The chosen tester will review each pie, rating everything from crust quality to flavour balance.
Their feedback will help inform both customer choices and future product development at Aldi Scotland.
Alan Leslie, buying director at Aldi Scotland, said: "After the fantastic response to last year’s search, the decision to bring back the position for another year was, as the saying goes, as easy as pie.
"Our 2026 Pie Tester will once again have the enviable task of tasting and reviewing the range to help us understand which flavours really hit the spot.
"If you’re passionate about pastry and serious about sampling, we want to hear from you.
"No previous pie-tasting experience required."
The winner will also receive a year’s supply of free pies, and applications are now open at www.aldi.co.uk/scotland/pietester.
