KILMACOLM Golf Club is bringing players from across the community together for special event in aid of a much loved local charity.
Club captain Steven Dickie says he is honoured to be teeing off the open event to raise as much vital funds for the Ardgowan Hospice.
The hospice launched an urgent appeal earlier this year to plug a significant funding gap .
Steven said: "There is not a person you talk to in this golf club whose lives have not been touched by the Ardgowan Hospice. We all have family members and loved ones who have been cared for by the hospice.
"We want to give back to a local charity and we hope to raise as much money as possible on the day.
"The golf day is open to everyone. We have had great support so far from members and local businesses with donations."
The club captain is running the event with past captain Jane McDonald. The club will donate all their green fees from the day to the hospice.
Hospice fundraising manager Joanne Hunter said: “We are delighted that Kilmacolm Golf Club have chosen to support our hospice during this difficult financial time in our history.
"We wish all involved a great day of golf and fundraising. Thank you again for supporting your local hospice charity.”

The event takes place on Friday, May 15. Participants will meet at 12:30pm for breakfast rolls before a 1:30pm shotgun start, with teams of four competing in a friendly but competitive format.
A buffet and prize-giving will follow the competition.
Organisers are encouraging local businesses and individuals to support the event by entering a team, sponsoring prizes, or donating items for the raffle or auction.
