The Port Glasgow flat, comprising two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, and bathroom, will now host up to four guests per stay, with no planned external modifications.
The let, expected to handle around 40-45 bookings a year, permits stays ranging from three to 28 days.
Permission was granted by Inverclyde Council planners subject to conditions on May 1.
Kilmacolm Civic Trust raised objections, citing concerns about transient visitors impacting building community, potential noise, night check-ins, parties, and unfamiliar vehicles.
They also highlighted worries about setting a precedent for more short-term lets, increased wear and tear on shared spaces, and possible insurance or legal complications for the communal building.
The council, however, determined that there is no over-provision or harmful concentration.
