GREENOCK school children celebrated Scotland's return to the World Cup with a big party to raise funds for a cause close to their hearts.
St Andrew's Primary pupils turned up sporting crazy hairdos, waving Saltires and in Scotland tops as they joined in the celebrations.
There was even an ice cream cone for everyone as a special treat from the kind-hearted members of the parent and teacher association.
Head teacher Alan Connick told the Tele it was a fantastic day in aid of Ardgowan Hospice.
He said: "We wanted to do something to celebrate Scotland's place in the World Cup.
"There has been a huge build-up since Scotland qualified and it really peaked last week.
"One of our primary two pupils Joey Lyall wanted a crazy hair day and suggested we have one to raise funds for the Ardgowan Hospice.
"I thought that was a fantastic idea. The hospice has had a campaign recently and it is a charity which has had a massive impact on our school community.
"So we decided to put it all together and the PTA wanted to organise an end of term treat so there was an ice cream van as well."
On the day John Harkins brought along his ice cream van to serve up some treats in the playground.
The World Cup crazy hair day party was one of a number of events taking place at the Chester Road school to celebrate the end of term.
This week they had a sports day, with the whole school now gearing up for a trip to explore Finlaystone Country Park.
In the final days of term the primary sevens are organising a charity 'soaking' event where they can line up to throw sponges at one another, as well as the teachers.
