GREENOCK's cinema is one of 120 independent picture houses giving out free tickets to ‘the biggest indie film of the year’ before its official release.
The Waterfront Cinema will put on a special showing of Sunny Dancer starring Bella Ramsey with appearances from James Blunt and Neil Patrick Harris.
It will be held on Monday, July 27 at 7.45pm and tickets are available on the Escapes website.
The film follows 17-year-old Ivy who beats cancer and can’t think of anything worse than to become a Make-A-Wish kid.
When her parents send her to a summer camp in Scotland for kids affected by cancer, Ivy has a hard time adjusting to the rules.
But as the weeks progress, she manages to find unexpected friends in a group of misfits and has a summer she’ll never forget at ‘Chemo Camp.’
Sunny Dancer’s soundtrack comes from regular Lana Del Rey collaborator Zachary Dawes and Este Haim, of the rock band Haim.

The free screenings are some of the first chances for UK audiences to see Sunny Dance before the film’s UK-wide cinema release on 14 August 2026.
Game of Thrones and the Last of Us star Bella Ramsey said after reading the script, they were convinced it was a special project.
She said: “There was absolutely no doubt in my mind that this was something I absolutely needed to do.”
