CREATIVE minds got the chance to try out a new design skill in a shop in Gourock last weekend.

Original Artists on Kempock Street welcomed the team from Print Clan CIC for a day of screen printing activities.

Experts Becca McCormack and Becca Gray helped visitors find out more about the artform, and took them through the steps needed to create beautiful designs.

They were able to answer questions about the process, and pass on hints and tips about how to make amazing creations.

For just £2, people got the chance to create their own tote bag bearing the iconic image of the Cloch lighthouse.

The workshop ran alongside an exhibition of pieces created by Print Clan's 'timebankers'; artists who earn studio time in exchange for helping with workshops, events, and studio tasks.

Artist Lisa Keogh, owner of Original Artists, said having the Print Clan team in the store for live screen printing activities was a 'brilliant opportunity'.

Lisa added: “It created a great buzz in the shop, and people really enjoying being introduced to screen printing.

“The event took place in the gallery part of the shop which is currently showing beautiful printed textiles from designers and screen printers.

“People of all ages and abilities took part in the event.

“It was really successful and added something different to the already thriving arts scene in Inverclyde.”

Print Clan started out in 2018 and is Glasgow’s only open access textile printing studio.

It became a Creative Scotland multi-year funded organisation in 2025.

Lisa thanked Print Clan’s co-founder Arianna Mele for bringing the experience to Inverclyde.

Arianna said the group of 'timebankers' are an invaluable part of the Print Clan community, as they bring energy and creativity, and provide support.

Arianna added: "Timebankers can learn new printmaking skills and progress onto paid opportunities, including teaching workshops and working on print and merchandise projects.

"This exhibition celebrates their creativity, dedication, and talent as artists and designers."
