NEW children’s book groups are launching to encourage more young people to enjoy reading.
The free monthly clubs are being rolled out across Inverclyde Libraries for children in Primary 4 to Primary 7, offering a chance to explore different genres, meet fellow readers, and share their thoughts on the books they enjoy.
Genres will include humour, mystery, sports stories, fantasy adventures, animal tales, and family-themed books.
Sessions will take place at multiple library branches throughout September.
Greenock South West Library will host its group on Tuesday, September 15 from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, while Greenock Central Library’s session will run the same day from 3.45pm to 4.45pm.
Gourock Library will hold its group on Thursday, September 17 from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
Port Glasgow Library’s session will be on Monday, September 21 from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, followed by Kilmacolm Library from 4pm to 5pm.
The sessions are free but require advance registration.
