A PORT Glasgow woman is saying goodbye to the only job she's ever known as she steps down from the Co-op after 50 years.
Angela McCann was congratulated by colleagues and customers as she worked her final shift at the Co-op on Dubbs Road in Port Glasgow on Saturday.
The shop worker joined the supermarket straight out of school, taking her first job with the company at its now closed Bouverie Street shop.
Angela said she will miss working at the shop, particularly because of the good times she has shared her colleagues over the last half century.
The 66-year-old said: “I'm a bit sad to be leaving the Co-op because I've been here for 50 years.
"I joined in 1976. I was just straight out of school and it’s the only job I've ever had.”
“I enjoyed working here, there were times you got fed up and didn't really enjoy it, but I liked working with the girls.”

Angela's colleagues put in a lot of effort to make sure her final day was a special one, putting together a fantastic balloon display and sending her plenty of well wishes.
Angela said: “It was enjoyable. A lot of the girls came in and wished me happy retirement, and we got lots of photographs taken and even a lot of the customers were very nice, wishing me a happy retirement.”
Supervisor Lesley Watt said Angela would be missed after five decades of serving the community.
Lesley said: “She was a valued member of the staff, our oldest member and a really good worker.
"She could work some of the young ones under the table and everything had to be right with her. She liked things tidy.
"She was our supervisor, next in charge to the manager for a for a long time and she just took the step down not long ago, because she was hitting retirement age."
Staff marked Angela’s last shift with a party with staff who weren't on shift coming in on the day to wish her well.
A personalised cake was made by a staff members niece and they gifted the retiree flowers to send her off.
