A NEW book about the Clyde’s Blue Trains will be launched at Wemyss Bay Station on November 21.

Friends of Wemyss Bay Station will host author Colin Turbett in the station gallery at 2pm.

His book, 'Dreams in Blue: Railways and Social Change on the Clyde', examines the introduction of electric Blue Trains in 1960.

It also looks at wider social changes across west central Scotland during that period.

The book considers post-war reconstruction, the growth of the welfare state and changing patterns of work, housing and urban life along the River Clyde.

Organisers said copies will be available to buy on the day, and the author can sign them after his talk.
