BOMB disposal experts who were called to a Gourock factory after a suspicious package was discovered say it was a tracking device.
The explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team was summoned to Amazon in Faulds Park early this morning.
A major operation was launched by the emergency services with dozens of police and fire service personnel called to the warehouse shortly after 5am when question marks were raised about a package.
Hundreds of nightshift staff were evacuated and the area was sealed off.
Workers arriving for the day shift at around 8am were also turned away while emergency services carried out a sweep of the building.
By late morning bomb disposal experts arrived and were there throughout the afternoon investigating the package.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We can confirm a suspicious package found at a depot in Gourock is not a viable device.
"The item appears to be some sort of tracking device.
"It will be dis-assembled by the EOD personnel and received by police for further forensic examination."
She added that the investigation is still ongoing.
