GOUROCK Golf Club’s ladies committee raised a fantastic amount of money for Breast Cancer Now by holding an invitational ‘Pink Day’ fun competition.
Committee member Fiona Phillips says the annual event is one of the most popular on their calendar.
She said: “Pink is the order of the day, with fines for anyone not wearing pink, for landing in a bunker and for taking too many putts.
“Pink fizz and chocolate strawberries are provided for donations, home baking is on sale with much pink colouring, and a raffle, games and an evening auction add to the funds.
“It’s a fun day and a big fundraiser.
“We’d like to thank our friends and families who supported the cake stall, as well as the many local businesses that also provided items for the raffle and auction to help us collect a total of £1,600.”
