DETECTIVES are investigating an early morning attempted robbery in Greenock.
A 25-year-old man was approached by another male who demanded money.
Detective Sergeant Alex Allardyce of Greenock CID says the case is being treated as assault with attempt to rob.
He added: “An attempt was made to assault the man, who jumped into a taxi and escaped without being injured or handing over anything.”
The assailant is described as slim, 6ft tall and was wearing a white hooded top with the hood up.
DS Allardyce added: “We are pursuing a positive line of inquiry.”
The incident happened in Bow Road at 6.50am yesterday.
