ON behalf of all the troublemakers and degenerates in Inverclyde I would like to say a heartfelt thank-you to the police for their plan to close the current local station.

Are the police now going to allow offenders to go home instead of taking them into custody?

Every time someone is arrested will they be taken to Glasgow? Will officers spend more time on the motorway than in Inverclyde? Will there be occasions when there are no officers in Inverclyde? If that happens the last remnants of public trust in the police will die.

What about the CCTV coverage?

How many jobs will be lost locally?

Will CID functions be moved elsewhere?

What do we do with any lost property that is found? Throw it away?

The folk who voted for the SNP at the last few elections indirectly voted to close our station. The SNP can reverse the decision to close it. They have refused to do. If the same folk vote for the SNP at the next election what are they really voting for? Will they be voting to close our hospital?

As for our MP Ronnie Cowan, he thinks it's no big deal the station is closing. Who is going to vote for you now, Mr Cowan? What are you actually doing for Inverclyde?
