Now it would appear that the upgrade to the pavements in West Blackhall Street appear to be "completed", can someone in the department of the council who is overseeing the contract advise us that the finish is acceptable?
I raised concerns a few months ago re the quality of the finish on the first phase. Sadly this, in my view, has not improved. Indeed the quality of finish has worsened as the project advanced.
We now have quite expensive raised planters installed along the length of the street, and not one of them plumb or level.
It would appear that anything is acceptable. Rather than enhancing the area, I feel we have gone the opposite way.
At the launch of the project, we had councillors complete with hard hats, high viz vests and shovels advising the beginning of a new project to enhance a neglected part of our town.
Sadly the lack of follow up photoshoots and shots of the progress says it all.
