HUGE crowds turned out for the opening of a Port Glasgow discount store.
Poundworld opened its doors in the town’s retail park at 10am yesterday morning and some of the 30 new staff were greeted by hundreds of customers eager to have a look around and snap up some bargains.
Depute Provost David Wilson, pictured, did the honours and cut the ribbon before the first 100 people through the doors were given free goody bags to celebrate the discount retailer’s arrival.
Poundworld is the latest addition to the retail park following on from the opening of Marks and Spencer last month.
Next is due to open in November, followed by Boots.
