LAST week saw another accident on the A78 in Inverkip.
Thankfully no-one has been seriously injured.

As readers will know, I have raised the issue of the A78 and road safety there for many years and I was delighted when the A78 was included in the City Deal, of which Inverclyde is to get three projects.

I received a reply from Inverclyde Council last week informing of the current status of the Inverkip roundabout.

I published the response on my Stuart McMillan MSP Facebook page as a result of some constituents understandably wanting an update.

I haven’t seen any plans yet so don’t know of the exact location of the roundabout but I am hoping to obtain further details soon.

Tomorrow, I have a meeting with the Minister for Employability and Training, Jamie Hepburn MSP and Dyslexia Scotland. The meeting is to discuss adult assessments.

More people are aware of dyslexia and its effects and thankfully schools are helping children more than ever before.

However, there is the issue of adults with dyslexia and the number of people who will be dyslexic and are unaware.

The story of Sir Jackie Stewart should be a lesson for us all as he was told, as a child, that he would amount to nothing and was considered to be stupid.

Sir Jackie proved his former teacher and the world wrong but it wasn’t an easy journey.

By improving adult assessments society will be benefit enormously as we assist people with dyslexia.
