I DON'T know how many Christian names you have but I have three which is quite unusual these days except perhaps when it comes to royalty.

Often the additional names relate to family names, but in more than one case, at least one unfortunate young lad was christened with the names of a football team!

This set me thinking about all the names Jesus has, perhaps titles more than names.

Listen to these.

He is … The Word, Jesus of Nazareth, the Lamb of God, the Bread of Life, the Messiah, the Way, the Truth and the Life, the Good Shepherd, Healer, Provider, the Light of the World, the King of kings, the Prince of Peace and the Son of God.

Others given to Him include Emmanuel, meaning God with us, the Redeemer, Lord of Lords, the Wonderful Counsellor, the Almighty and the Everlasting Father.

But best of all, He is your friend and my friend too. I can trust Him with everything, knowing He will lead me in what is proper, what is good and what is kind. And so can you.

Each one of these names has meaning for us and can be applied to our lives. He is the Prince of Peace and He brings such peace into our lives…peace that is beyond our understanding.

He is our Redeemer and it cost Him his life; He died on our behalf that we may be saved from the penalty of all our offences and wrongdoing.

He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and we can know that miraculous life as we follow Him. And He is our Everlasting Father.

Do you know this Jesus? You can if you want to.

We all make our choices and your choice can be to seek out and follow Jesus, know sins forgiven and forgotten and the way to eternal life.

Give Jesus a chance in your life.

Lay down any preconceptions, misconceptions or lack of belief. Just ask Him into your life this weekend.
