HI everyone! The countdown is on – it’s nearly October week.

No words can express how excited I am to have a wee long lie and not have to worry about school for a while.

Although, in saying that I will probably be given enough homework to make up for those missed classes!

This week I’m very excited as I’m once again helping out at another amazing Ardgowan Hospice event, this one is the ‘Great Gatsby Afternoon’ and I can’t wait. Getting to dress up, listen to fabulous music and eat even nicer cakes while raising funds for such a vital organisation definitely will be an afternoon well spent.

If anyone wants tickets, make sure you contact the hospice as it is selling out quickly.

Let the sandwich eating commence...

Well this week I want to discuss something that happens to us all at some point, whether it be with your hairstyle, job, supermarket or phone contact Change. It is physically impossible to go through our lives without coming across change in some form or another. At every point in life we have decisions to make and changes to embrace.

For all the wee cute P1s in primary school – they’re now in a full day which is a huge step for them. For primary seven’s, they’re getting ready to transition to high school, a huge step in their life which is going to see the introduction of mascara and excessive selfie taking!

But I’m now at the point in my school career where the biggest change is going to take place. A scary one!

This time next year no longer will I be going to school wearing a uniform each day. In fact – no longer will I be going to school!

I’ll have left and moved onto the next chapter in my life With this new venture of course brings very mixed emotions. I’ll obviously be sad to see my school days finish but delighted to try something completely new.

I know many people who are absolutely desperate to leave and either go to work, college or university, then there are others who’d rather stay and live off the school canteen for the rest of eternity.

But with so many university open days coming up and all these other possibilities of seeing where our lives may lead, all I can say is that we need to embrace them.

Everything changes for a reason, and I, along with many other people my age, cannot wait to see what the future has in store.
