I HAVE read all the responses to MC Barry’s letter for a few weeks looking for a response to the question he actually asked.

It was pretty simple – would the SNP frustrate a Labour government and, in doing so, allow the Tories into government, just as they did in 1979?

Many hundreds of words have been printed in this letters page by SNP supporters, but absolutely none of them have answered this very simple question.

In my opinion, the silence speaks volumes.

At the end of the day, people across Scotland would prefer a Labour government to a Tory one.

This is backed up by every poll that has asked the question.

But the SNP are so out of touch that they appear not to mind if the next election delivers five more years of a Tory government.
