DURING the cost of living crisis, which is decimating household budgets, the Labour leader of Inverclyde Council is considering adding to that burden by hiking up council tax - even though his colleagues in North Lanarkshire have agreed to a freeze.

Politics is ultimately about choices.

What is more important....hard-pressed families trying to make ends meet, or a council leader who wishes to increase their taxes?
