GREENOCK Glenpark Harrier Emma Baxter smashed her half-marathon personal best on Sunday.
She clocked 1-29-01 at the Llanelli Half-Marathon in south Wales.
Her previous best time over the 13.1 mile distance was 1-34-36 in Cardiff last October. Emma, 23, who is studying for a post-graduate degree in translation and interpreting at Swansea University, received a trophy as second woman at Llanelli.
She said: “The weather could have been better, but it was great to get under 1-30 for the first time.” The conditions were far from ideal – 21mph wind, driving, heavy rain and muddy paths.
Emma was the winner of Glenpark’s Wilson Shield for the club’s best female half-marathon time of 2014.
