MORTON will play Dumbarton at Cappielow in the first round of the Petrofac Training Cup.
The regionalised draw was made yesterday at St Mirren Park in Paisley, with the Greenock men in the south section.
They were paired with their near rivals from the other side of the River Clyde, who they will also face four times on league duty this term.
The Sons are under new management after ex-Ton midfielder Stevie Aitken took over the hotseat from Ian Murray this summer.
The tie is scheduled to be played on Saturday 25 July.
The full draw is as follows: South Section - Annan Athletic v Airdrieonians, St Mirren v Berwick Rangers, Edinburgh City v Queen’s Park, Morton v Dumbarton, Ayr United v Albion Rovers, Livingston v Clyde, Hibernian v Rangers, Queen of the South v Stranraer. North Section - Cowdenbeath v Raith Rovers, Forfar Athletic v Montrose, Arbroath v Dunfermline Athletic, Brechin City v Peterhead, Falkirk v East Fife, Elgin City v Stirling Albion, East Stirlingshire v Stenhousemuir, Brora Rangers v Alloa Athletic.
