Defender McKeown, a recent recruit from Stranraer, has not yet trained with his new club after suffering a calf strain prior to pre-season.

Veteran striker Peter MacDonald, pictured, meanwhile, turned his ankle in a bounce game against former club Dundee last week.

Duffy told the Tele: “Unfortunately, Frank got injured just before we started pre-season.

“He was out running and pulled a calf muscle, so he’s not taken part in any pre-season training yet.

“He’ll be a couple of weeks away even when he does get fit, so that’s a wee bit of a set-back, a wee bit frustrating for him and for us.

“He was coming from a part-time situation to a full-time situation, and I think he tried to step up the training and had a bit of a setback.

“It’s not anything major, but it could just be a couple of weeks and then take a wee bit of time to get up to the level of fitness of the rest of the group.

“Both Ricki [Lamie] and Peaso [Peter MacDonald] picked up injuries in the Dundee game. Peaso’s was a kind of stumble after a push and he went over his ankle. But we don’t think it’s too significant.”
