The 34-year-old club captain is expected to go under the knife on 17 November in order to remove a piece of floating cartilage in his knee.
And writing in his official programme notes, Golden Casket chief Mr Rae revealed MacDonald has promised to find the net on a regular basis upon his return to full fitness.
He said: “I mentioned earlier about a new bout of injuries hitting our team. The man who had been hit hardest is our captain.
“Peaso will be having surgery on one of his knees which has taken a battering over the years. After the operation in two weeks’ time, Peaso will continue to be on the sideines for around six weeks while he recuperates.
“On his return, he will be like a whippet and he has also promised me that he will score at least a couple of goals a week.
“I hope that everything will go well with the operation, Peaso.”
