SUMMER signing Michael Doyle says he is keen to sample the derby against St Mirren after hearing all about it in the build-up to today’s encounter in Paisley.

The 25-year-old penned a one-year contract with the Cappielow club in June after departing St Johnstone.

And right-back Doyle, who started all four Betfred Cup group section ties, admits today’s fixture is something he has been looking forward to after experiencing the hype at training and on social media.

He told the Tele: “With the derby, I’m really looking forward to it.

“It will be a good experience. I know it’s a big game for the fans and will maybe even be sold out.

“Obviously I’ve just come to Morton, but we’ve been speaking about it on the training ground and the boys who played in it last year have told me all about it.

“I’ve also seen a lot of things on Twitter. You always want to make a good impression in the fans’ eyes and you know the game means a lot to them, so it means a lot to you as well.”
