MORTON boss Jim Duffy has been hit with a three game ban for his part in a recent touchline bust-up with Hibs manager Neil Lennon.

Duffy was the subject of a disciplinary tribunal convened today at Hampden after a flashpoint towards the end of the goalless draw between the clubs in the capital.

The Ton boss admitted misconduct by entering the Hibs' technical area and adopting an 'aggressive attitude to Neil Lennon, manager of Hibernian FC'.

He is to serve an immediate two game ban with the third game suspended and only coming into force in the event of a further breach of disciplinary rules before the end of 2017.

It means he will be sitting in the stand when Ton face Ayr at home this weekend.

Morton also admitted a club misconduct charge in that three or more players and/or members of staff were involved in the confrontation with opposing players and/or members of team staff.

Ton's penalty is a £750 fine, £500 of it payable immediately and the remainder in the event of a further breach, suspended until end of calendar year 2017.

Meanwhile the misconduct charge levelled against Ton number two Craig McPherson was withdrawn, meaning he is free to be in the technical area for Saturday's game against Ayr.
