MORTON defender Thomas O’Ware has played down speculation linking him with a move to English League One side Plymouth Argyle.
The centre-half said he was aware that The Pilgrims had sent scouts north of the border to watch him towards the end of last season, but said he remained focused on his career at Ton.
Speculation down south has suggested the English side, who are managed by former Ross County boss Derek Adams, are on the hunt for a new defender to help them achieve promotion next term.
O’Ware enjoyed an impressive 2016-17 campaign, netting 11 goals and playing his way into the Ladbrokes Championship Team of the Year alongside team-mate Ross Forbes and just missing out on a Player of the Year nomination to boot.
Speaking about the potential interest, O’Ware told the Tele: “I’ve not heard anything recently about it but I knew they [Argyle] were up watching a wee while ago.
“But that’s as far as I’m aware, I’ve not heard anything else other than that.
“Until there’s an offer or whatever put in, I’m fully committed to Morton.
“It’s all just rumour at the moment.”
O’Ware, 24, has also been rumoured to have caught the eye of EFL Championship sides Birmingham City and Wolves.
