MORTON striker Robert Thomson believes now is the time for his side to build on recent results and string a run of wins together to launch an assault on the promotion play-off places.
The Greenock men have found a good bit of form in the past two weeks — starting with a 1-1 draw with Dunfermline at East End Park before dismantling Falkirk 3-0 and Brechin City 4-1 in their most recent outings.
Ton’s highest number of consecutive victories this season so far has been just two, but Thomson reckons the visit of Dundee United is as good a time as any to improve on that statistic.
The ex-Tangerine hopes a win on Saturday can kick-start their campaign after a steady, if unspectacular, start that sees them sitting fifth in the Ladbrokes Championship table.
He told the Tele: “It has been frustrating recently that we’ve lacked that wee bit of consistency because we know the quality we have. Hopefully we can build on the results against Falkirk and Brechin.
“You can’t really pick a winner in this league and every game is difficult, so hopefully we can string some wins together now and move up the table from here.”
