BOB McHugh reckons Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brechin was an opportunity squandered.

McHugh levelled after Ton conceded an early goal to Connor McLennan but the striker admits he was disappointed not to find the net again.

And while he was pleased to score his first strike since October, the 26-year-old is desperate to chip in with more goals in the coming weeks to justify his inclusion in the starting 11.

He told the Tele: “It was a game where we should be taking three points but the way they set up we found that they were difficult to break down.

“We played well in the second half actually but were just unable to get the winning goal.

“Their goalkeeper had a few saves and we made a few poor decisions in the final third.

“But we deserved three points and were frustrated we weren’t able to get them.

“I haven’t started in the last few weeks so I’ve been working away in training. And I was delighted to get on the scoresheet because I was given my chance to start.

“Something I’ve been seeing looking on from the bench is that there have been chances created where goals can be scored, and hopefully I’ll be the one there to put them away in the next few weeks.”
