MORTON’S four-game unbeaten run came to an end as a youthful side were beaten 2-1 by Dumbarton in the Irn Bru Cup last night.
Sons got off to a bright start with Greenockian Michael Paton scoring, before ex-Ton striker Iain Russell doubled their lead 26 minutes in.
Gary Oliver scored his first of the campaign to give the visitors a glimmer of hope, but after dominating in the second half, the visitors were unable to find an equaliser.
