FORMER Morton player Bobby Barr says it felt great to get one over his former team.

The 30-year-old provided two assists for the Sons on Tuesday night as he helped the League One side beat the Ton 2-1.

The midfielder spent one season at Cappielow during the 2015-16 campaign, before signing a pre-contract with Raith Rovers months before the season ended.

Barr, who moved to Dumbarton this summer, was booed in the first minute by the travelling support when he first touched the ball, as well as being shouted at throughout the match.

The midfielder was glad to see his new side go through at the expense of his old team, cheering and fist pumping towards the away end as he walked down the tunnel at the end of the game.

He told the Tele: “Some of the shouting was to be expected, but some of the shouts you hear are incredible.

“It’s more about the team you support rather than the football, but it’s expected and I’m glad to get one over them.

“The abuse from the crowd doesn’t spur me on. I’m old enough now to have heard it all so like I say I just need to get my head down and as long as I’m playing well then I’m happy.

“I’m delighted with the win, it was a good result for us.”
