GREGOR Buchanan believes Morton are a different proposition from the last time they faced Partick Thistle.

The two sides lock horns again today at Firhill just a month after playing each other in the Betfred Cup.

The Jags ran out 2-1 winners on that occasion, but it was the second half performance that showed the first signs of Morton’s new-look team beginning to click.

The centre-back thinks that will make it a different game from last time out, as they look to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

He told the Tele: It’s a totally different team since then, and we’re a brand new 11 because there were a lot of new faces in over the summer, and it does take time to gel.

“It was that Partick Thistle game in the second half where it all started to click, and the boys looked amongst each other and thought we have got something about us, and we’re a good team, and it gave us a lot of confidence.

“It’s a different game though. It’ll be more competitive and there will be a lot more challenges flying in. But we’re going there to get three points, as that’s the place we’re in at the moment.

“It’s a difficult league, but we want teams to look at us and think they’ve got a hard game because we’re playing Morton.

“We’re taking it week by week by but there’s no reason why we can’t go there on Saturday and get another three points.”
