ROSS MacLean believes new Morton manager Jonatan Johansson’s illustrious playing career will make up for his lack of managerial experience.
Johansson was appointed by the club as the new manager on Thursday, the 43-year-old’s first managerial job.
However, Johansson has experience starring for English side Charlton Athletic when they were in the Premier League, Rangers in the Champions League as well playing over 100 times for the Finnish national team.
On top of that, his coaching career to date has seen him progress from Motherwell’s under-20s to being an assistant with Finland and Rangers up until this summer.
The 21-year-old Motherwell loanee, who played under Johansson at Well’s under-20s, says being in those high pressure games will make up for his lack of experience as a manger.
He told the Tele: “He was in big games as a player and as a coach last season.
“He was in Old Firm matches and knows what the pressure is like for managers and he was helping out Murty.
“JJ knows what it takes to be in and around a big club like Rangers and he’ll have learnt a lot from that.
“I don’t think experience will be a problem for him. I know it’s his first job as a manager but I don’t think we’ll need to worry about that.”
