MORTON’S Chris Millar is happy to fill in where required after playing out of position on Saturday.

The central midfielder filled in on the right wing as part of new manager Jonatan Johansson’s 4-4-2 formation.

The 35-year-old, returning for his second spell at the Ton, has primarily played in the centre of the park as part of a 4-3-3 system under previous manager Ray McKinnon at the start of this campaign.

While he’d prefer to be playing in the centre of the park, the former St Johnstone man says he will play wherever Johansson wants him to.

Millar told the Tele: “I would obviously prefer to play centre, that’s where I prefer to play and the manager’s asked me to play on the right midfield, and that’s not a problem.

“It was just so we could deal with their wingers and to get two strikers on the pitch.

“I’ll play wherever I’m asked to, but I’d prefer playing more central.

“I’ve not played on the right in a while.

“I played there for a bit with Morton and St Johnstone, but it’s a different type of shift.
“When you’re in the centre you can influence the game a bit more, you’re more inclined to get on the ball, but I don’t play too wide anyway.

“I try to play in off the line a bit more in the three when needs be, but I felt I’d put a decent shift in and it was just unfortunate we couldn’t get the win.”
