MIDFIELDER Scott Tiffoney is hoping to get more minutes under his belt after earning Morton a draw against Dunfermline.

The winger, who left for Livingston in the summer but was loaned back to the Greenock side until January, has had limited action so far this season.

He replaced Jack Iredale at the break on Saturday, after the Australian was unable to come back out in the second half due to injury.

Tiffoney’s goal late in the game against the Pars helped the Ton earn a 1-1 draw, keeping Jonatan Johansson’s unbeaten start to life at Cappieow intact.

After being limited to one start, in the Irn-Bru Cup against Dumbarton, Tiffoney was pleased to play a key role and is hoping to have a bigger impact for the Ton in the coming weeks.

He told the Tele: “You always want to pick something up from the game, but we’ll take the point at the end of the day.

“We worked hard and it was a bit of a battle, but we know some games are going to be like that and we need to get something from it if we want to be staying near the top end of the table.

“I came off the bench at half-time and I wanted to make an impact, and as soon as I got a chance to come inside I hit it and I was lucky enough to hit it into the top corner.
“It was my first 45 minutes of the league season so it was good to get some more game time.

“It’s a good experience. Hopefully I’ll be playing regularly here and winning and have us near the top of the table before going back in January and see if I can make an impact at Livingston.”

The forward has been impressed with new manager Johansson since his arrival earlier this month.

Tiffoney hopes to learn more from the experienced Finnish international and Rangers striker before he heads back to Livi.

He added: “It’s been good so far, he’s obviously played at a high level with Rangers and at international level and he knows what he’s talking about.

“He played in a similar position to me, so hopefully I’ll learn a lot from him by January.”
