MORTON suffered their heaviest home defeat in almost five years after Ayr United thumped them 5-1.
The visitors took the lead via Lawrence Shankland, before Charlie Telfer equalised before the break with his first goal for the Greenock side since signing in the summer.
But the game’s key moment occurred shortly after half-time, when Michael Tidser’s penalty was saved by former Ton loanee Ross Doohan.
