KERR Waddell says he’d love to extend his stay at Morton after marking his return to the starting line-up with a solid defensive display.
The centre-back, who signed on a six-month loan from Dundee in the summer, made his first league start for the Greenock outfit after being limited to four appearances off the bench in the Championship.
The 20-year-old has made three starts in the Betfred Cup and Irn-Bru Cup, but has been unable to work his way into the starting 11 in the league due to injuries and the form of Gregor Buchanan and Lee Kilday.
But after the 5-1 defeat to Ayr United, the defender knew he was likely to get a chance against Inverness Caley Thistle.
Waddell played the full 90 minutes, and hopes he can continue to be a regular in the starting line-up — and if he does he’s keen to stay on with Jonatan Johansson’s side.
He told the Tele: “The manager told me on Friday that I was playing and I was buzzing, I was just excited.
“I thought I’d done well, especially considering I’ve been out of the side for the last few weeks.
“I felt a yard off the pace for the first 20-25 minutes but after that I did well, I thought we defended well as a back four.
