NICKY Low hasn’t ruled out a January move to Morton but has other offers in Scotland on the table.

The midfielder left Derry City last month, and is looking to come back to his homeland after spending a season with the League of Ireland side.

The 26-year-old from Greenock is training with Morton Reserves, using their facilities as he tries to keep fit after his contract with the Candystripes ended, and he played as a trialist in their 1-0 defeat to Manchester United Under-23s yesterday.

Due to contract rules he can’t play competitively or sign with anyone until January 1 2019, and the midfielder admits a lot could change between now and then when the transfer window reopens.

He told the Tele: “I’d be willing to speak to Morton but it’s football.

“I just need to wait and see and weigh up my options for myself.

“I’ve had an offer from one team from the Premiership but it’s mostly interest from the Championship here.

“I had a few offers to stay in Ireland but I felt the time was right to come back.”

“It was just family reasons why I came back and I’ve got three or four offers from here, which is always pleasing to have on the table. I’ll speak to my agent and see what’s best going forward.”

Morton played well in yesterday’s friendly against United, but were ultimately undone by a Zak Dearnley strike just before the half-hour mark.

The Ton, who also had Australian forward and Largs Thistle player Joe Knowles and former youth forward Alex Waters playing as trialists, came closest to equalising via Low.

The midfielder tried an audacious chip from 30 yards out, but the goalkeeper just got back in time to claw away the effort, with the game finishing 1-0.
