MORTON’S winless league run continued after Inverness Caley Thistle beat the 10-man Ton 2-1 at Cappielow on Saturday.
The hosts started off well but found themselves behind after 17 minutes when Tom Walsh fired the visitors in front.
It got worse when Kerr Waddell was sent off after 34 minutes, with Sean Welsh missing with the resulting penalty in the first half.
They doubled their lead shortly after the break via an Aaron Doran header, and the away side could have been further in front with a number of missed chances.
But substitute Scott Tiffoney pulled one back for Morton with a brilliant individual effort and gave the Greenock side a lifeline heading into the final minutes.
