LEE Kilday hopes Morton can keep their winning run going after toppling league leaders Ross County.

The centre-back played a key role in the Ton’s 1-0 victory over the Highland outfit on Friday night, helping to keep a clean sheet for Jonatan Johansson’s side.

The result moved the Greenock men into the play-offs, with other results going their way during the weekend.

The defender has been with Morton since 2014 after leaving Premiership side Hamilton Accies, and was part of the Ton team that reached the Championship play-offs two seasons ago.

After a confident display against the team flying high at the top of the table, the 26-year-old believes his side are more than capable of finishing in the top four this season.

He told the Tele: “It was a terrific result, I felt in the second half we did really well. They only had one real chance on goal and big Gats saved it.

“It’s a great victory following on from the Partick result. Hopefully we can keep the run going now.

“I’ve been playing well the last few weeks, the gaffer said to me that’s the best I’ve been playing so far so for me personally I can keep it going.

“I thought Bucky [Gregor Buchanan] and Kerr [Waddell] were brilliant as well, hopefully we can keep it going now.”

Meanwhile, Ton development squad player Blair Docherty has signed a contract extension until the end of the season. The 19-year-old has been on loan with Largs Thistle during the first half of the campaign.
