GREG Kiltie’s Morton loan deal could be in the balance after Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke revealed the winger may have to remain at Rugby Park this season.
The Tele exclusively revealed earlier this month a deal had been close for the 22-year-old to join the Ton on loan until the end of the season.
But the move was scuppered by Greg Stewart’s loan spell at Killie being cut short, and then joining rivals Aberdeen.
Kiltie started for Killie against Forfar on Saturday starring in their 2-0 win against the League One outfit.
Clarke said after the cup tie the winger had been set to join an unnamed club last week, believed to be Morton, but said unless Killie can get a replacement in he won’t be leaving the club in this transfer window.
He said: “It was my intention last week to let him go on loan, but, obviously, the circumstances which crept up meant I had to keep him around.
“At the moment, it looks as though he’s staying in, although if I could bring in a replacement forward, I could maybe still look to let Greg go and get some games.”
