MORTON were sent crashing out of the Scottish Cup by East Fife, losing 2-1 to the League One side on Saturday.

Calls for manager Jonatan Johansson to quit came out from sections of the away support after the defeat at the Bayview Stadium, after a disappointing display to the Fifers.

The Ton had taken an early seventh minute lead when Bob McHugh pounced from close range to open the scoring.

But that advantage lasted just two minutes, Anton Dowds quickly equalised from a short corner to make it 1-1.

And Craig Watson netted from a set-piece again with 14 minutes to go to seal East Fife’s place in the fifth round of the competition.
