MORTON’S Chris Millar believes the club’s January signings and players returning from injury have provided the Greenock side with a much-needed boost.

Jonatan Johansson’s men have improved in recent weeks after having a rough spell at the beginning of 2019, which saw them exit the Scottish Cup, as well as falling down the league table.

But they picked up a key victory over Queen of the South, and looked solid against Falkirk.

The midfielder hopes they can now string a few wins together, after failing to win three games in a row all season.

He told the Tele: “The last few games we’ve had new personnel settling in. I think Robert Thomson has played really well since he’s come in, he’s given us an edge and Reece Lyon has played really well.

“At the back we’ve been relatively solid. If you add in a combination of all those factors it’s lifted us, but we need to get more points on the board.

“We’ve not put three or four wins together all season, and that’s something you need to be doing if you want to be at the top end of the table in those play-off positions.

“Those games are running out now so we need make the most of it.”
