BOB McHugh says he’s keen to extend his stay with Morton if he gets offered a new contract by the club.

The striker has spent the last two seasons with the Ton after joining from Falkirk back in 2017.

The forward is the club’s top goalscorer this season, finding the back of the net 10 times in 33 appearances.

The 27-year-old is currently sidelined with a hairline fracture in his leg, but he is still hoping to make a return and add to his goals tally this term in the Ton’s final few games of the campaign.

The ex-Motherwell player is out of contract at the end of the season, and says he wants to stay at Cappielow if he’s given the opportunity to do so.

He told the Tele: “It’s something I’m going to need to start looking into now. I’ve not heard anything either way from the club or any other clubs.

“When you enter the final few months of your contract then you need to start looking.

“Hopefully in the next few weeks I’ll hopefully hear something. If it’s not Morton then it’s somewhere else, we’ll just need to see how it goes.

“I don’t see any reason why I couldn’t extend my time with Morton.

“It’s a great club with a great fanbase, it’s a nice place to work and play your football and it’s definitely something I would look to consider if that opportunity came up.”
